Mass For Artists

Those of you who have followed our Carmelite “adventures” will remember that this past summer we were delighted by the visit of a number of well-known local artists, who came to paint and photograph the views from our property. We shared with you the results of their visit on our blog “See Carmel Through the Eyes of Love”.

Their visit and our meeting with some of the artists and especially our growing friendship with the organizer, Rhyta Rounds, resulted in a new and delightful bond! Since we are celebrating our Year of Preparation with various Special Masses, we asked Rhyta if the artists would be interested in joining us for a Special Mass for them. A close friend, Bishop Gregory Studerus, of the Newark Archdiocese, is himself an artist, and he was the first one to set up his easel on our property.

This suggestion met with a surprising enthusiasm from Rhyta, from Bishop Gregory and also from the artists themselves! This Mass is scheduled for next Saturday, December 16th, at 10:00 am, and it will be livestreamed. For those who join us in our chapel there will be a small reception afterwards, with a meeting with the Nuns in the speakroom.

We gladly welcome all who want to attend and we hope that you will be there!
